Reviews and Ratings for Financial Adviser Chris Miles

Experience
and expertise

Chris has spent more than two decades in regulated financial services, helping individuals, families, and business owners make informed decisions about their wealth.

He began his career with Alliance & Leicester and Skipton Financial Services, building a strong technical foundation in financial planning and client advice before moving into independent financial planning. His work with Continuum (Financial Services) LLP strengthened his client-first approach, allowing him to tailor advice to each person’s circumstances.

These experiences ultimately led Chris to establish NorthNest Private Wealth, bringing together his technical expertise with the kind of personal, relationship-led advice he believes clients deserve.

On an ideal weekend, you can find me:

With the people who matter most, enjoying some time outdoors, and making time to slow down and appreciate the simple things: good food, a cocktail or two, and, in the mornings, poached eggs and black coffee. Sushi would also be involved at some point for lunch or dinner.

My favourite holiday destination is:

Spain for the sunshine or skiing in the Alps.

My favourite song to play in the car is:

The Killers album, Hot Fuss, which takes me back to my early 20s and a less serious time of life.

The first album I bought was:

The Jungle Book film soundtrack on vinyl.

If I could be any fictional character, I would be:

If I could be any fictional character, I would be James Bond – calm under pressure, well-travelled, and partial to a good cocktail. Probably with less danger and drama, though.

If I could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, I would win a medal in:

Making poached eggs.

When the dessert menu arrives, I’m looking for:

Tiramisu, every time.

The three qualities that draw me to new people are:

A smile, good humour, and humility.

My pet peeve is:

Indecisiveness.

The best gift I’ve ever received is:

The best gift I’ve ever received is life itself and the understanding, over time, of how important it is to make the most of it.

The three people at my dream dinner party would be:

Sir Ranulph Fiennes for his fascinating and dry stories, Carl Jung for his understanding of what makes humans tick, and someone from my own family history to better understand the journey before me.

The three small things that make my day better are:

Black coffee in the morning, a moment to reflect on what I’m grateful for, and exercise.

Three things I haven’t done so far include:

Visiting the Amazon jungle, travelling to Japan, and learning how to play chess.

Passions and
personal life

Outside of work, Chris enjoys staying active, whether that’s in the gym, at a weekly yoga class, on a hiking trail, or tackling an indoor bouldering wall. He’s also a keen beginner skier and still has a passion for travel, sparked by a gap year spent backpacking around the world.

At home, you’ll often find him experimenting with cocktails, listening to vinyl, reading, or attempting to improve his drawing and photography. He appreciates good food, a glass of red wine, or a Scotch whisky, and enjoys the occasional orchestral concert or trip to the theatre.

Chris is happiest spending time with his close-knit family and friends, including his cat, Freddie. He also enjoys connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, sharing ideas and experiences, particularly in the mountains or at professional events.
