My name is Juliet Price. I first got in touch with NorthNest two years ago, and it’s Chris Miles, who is my financial adviser.

I was starting to think about retirement and pensions, actually getting money out of pensions, and I needed to understand how financially secure we were and what needed to be done, if anything, to ensure that we had enough financial security for our post-retirement years.

The way that I found Chris was by going through the Unbiased website. That was what the recommendation had been to me, and I was able to look at the reviews, find out some information about him, and obviously there were other financial advisers on there too, so I was able to not just be channelled in one direction.

When I was waiting for the responses to come back from Unbiased, I believe Chris came back the most swiftly, and immediately he offered an initial free-of-charge session, which really was exactly what I was looking for. And during that meeting, the thing that really impressed us was how well he listened. He didn’t just ask the right questions. He listened really well, and he read between the lines, because I think, you know, sometimes if there’s you and your partner both coming at it from a slightly different direction, he picked up on that really, really well.

Since I’ve been working with Chris, I feel that my financial future is more secure, and that I am far more aware of what goes on in the marketplace in terms of products. Chris and NorthNest have introduced me to ideas and concepts in finance that I had no previous knowledge of.

I feel that I am now best placed with the finances that are available to me or will be available to me. I am now in the best place that I could be because of the way that they’ve looked after me.

If I had to describe Chris in three words, I would say he’s professional, he’s proactive, and he’s empathetic.

During my time working with Chris, one of the things that has really impressed me was that he proactively worked with my accountant to help me achieve the best outcome for my personal taxation, and it was something I wasn’t expecting, but that holistic approach to my finances really gave me the security and trust.

I’d have no hesitation in recommending Chris and NorthNest. For somebody whose work is completely bound up in numbers, Chris has never made me feel like a number, and that just counts for everything.
